چکیده

This document provides an initial PHY system proposal of a low frequency (Sub 11 GHz) wireless access PHY for point-to-multipoint voice, video and data applications. The submission is for consideration of the Task Group to develop a PHY standard for BWA system. Purpose This contribution will be presented and discussed within the Task Group in Session #10 for possible adoption as baseline for a PHY standard Sub 11 GHz BWA systems. IEEE Contribution to ITU-R on "Radio interface specifications for fixed broadband wireless access (BWA) systems",

This standard specifies the air interface of fixed (stationary) point-to-multipoint broadband wireless access systems providing multiple services. The medium access control layer is capable of supporting multiple physical layer specifications optimized for the frequency bands of application. The standard includes a particular physical layer specification applicable to systems operating between ...

Proposal for an OFDM-based 802.16 BWA Air Interface Physical Layer

A Physical Layer based on OFDM modulation with parameters similar to 802.11a, HIPERLAN/2 and MMAC is presented. The PHY covers data rates of 6.7 to 60 Mbit/s with 20 MHz channel spacing. The OFDM based PHY exhibits, in addition to good link budget, excellent multipath robustness. Aligning the BWA PHY with a contemporary high-speed wireless LAN PHY standard will result in widely available, cost ...

IEEE Standard for Local and Metropolitan Area Networks Part 16: Air Interface for Fixed Broadband Wireless Access Systems - IEEE Std 802.16-2004 (Revision of IEEE Std 802.16-2001)

This standard specifies the air interface of fixed broadband wireless access (BWA) systems supporting multimedia services. The medium access control layer (MAC) supports a primarily point-to-multipoint architecture, with an optional mesh topology. The MAC is structured to support multiple physical layer (PHY) specifications, each suited to a particular operational environment. For operational f...

IEEE 802.11ah: A Long Range 802.11 WLAN at Sub 1 GHz

IEEE 802.11ah is an emerging Wireless LAN (WLAN) standard that defines a WLAN system operating at sub 1 GHz license-exempt bands. Thanks to the favorable propagation characteristics of the low frequency spectra, 802.11ah can provide much improved transmission range compared with the conventional 802.11 WLANs operating at 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands. 802.11ah can be used for various purposes includi...

Performance Evaluation of MB-OFDM based UWB System

This paper investigates the Multi-band OFDM (MB-OFDM) based physical (PHY) layer proposal for IEEE 802.15.3a working group on short-range high data-rate Ultra-wide-Band (UWB) communications. An overview of the MB-OFDM PHY layer architecture with its various parameters is presented and the optimal choice of critical parameters is discussed. Next, we derive the theoretical un-coded Bit Error Rate...
